Dear brothers and sisters! I hope that you all had a good and full filling summer. Now it is the cat that need our attention and energy.
We know that there are a hard times coming for cats in Denmark and abroad.
Those cats who are homeless and those cats who had a home, and don't have it anymore, need our help now.
Over 4.000 years ago,  wild cats in Egypt and humans began, to drag  advantage from each other.
The cat helped to keep the population of rats and mice down, that of-course was a great help for the humans.
There have been cats in Denmark, for around 1800 years.
Today there are about 650.000 house cats in Denmark.
The cat is more a pet then house helper today.

We buy kitties like never before, but the decision is not always thought through. It's like that not everybody is aware of the responsibility this decision holds. Cats can live many yeas.

Most of us know the story of  the summer cottage cat. Suddenly one day a cat stands outside the cottage's door and begs for some food, or maybe you found a 'left over' cat in the neighborhood. A good summer vacation deal.

Sadly many think that the cat can survive  alone, when vacation is over, but it can't. A cat that is used to get fed, cannot survive the winter, it will die of hunger or freeze to death. Many cats are left to this sad fate in Denmark and abroad. 

"Cats do not differ from other test animals, when it's about natural behavior: To use time with same fellow species, exercise and be stimulated by sensory perception, and gain experience." Most test animals do not or almost not benefit from this, even though the Law for Protection of Animals says " Who ever that keeps an animal, shall feed, water and take care, in consideration of it's physiological, behavior and societal needs, accordance to recognized practical scientific knowledge". If  one used " recognized practical scientific knowledge"  when it's about  the animals behavior needs, then it will be illegal the keep test animals in those condition they live in today!

Cats that are used in experiments, are mainly put in cages in shameful conditions. A cage is made of two metal plates, two metal bowls for food and water, (often montage in the inner side of the gate) and sometimes there is a small shelf placed in the back of the cage.
The European directive for animal protection, that are used in scientific purpose, prescribe that a cage for a adult cat shall at least be 0,2 square meters. There is nothing that keeps the  research institutions from  buying bigger cages, but only few will spend extra money on it.

Before the experiment begins, it's possible for kitties to be together in a larger room, where they can play with toys. When the experiment begins, the cats are usually isolated in their own cage.

Adult cats are caged alone from the moment they arrive to the research institute. When a experiment begins, analysis on the cats urine and feces is made. If the cats have been injured or have some sort of defect that makes it possible for the cat to changes behavior for example it can't control its urine or something like that. This means that the cat can't be in the same cage anymore.
In basic research, cats are popular in neuronbiological experiments, while in veterinary medicine, research include for example Feline Immunodeficiency Veries (FIV  or also know as Cat AIDS).

In FIV research, the cat lives a long time, so the disease can be fully observed.
In neuronbiological research the cat can be at the institute for a long time, but when the experiment starts, the cat is often put down, while sedated.  In other experiments, cats are observed, over long time, for example when the cats are at sleep and have a brain-damage or when conducting spinal cord experiments.

The cat is also used in feeding experiments. Some people still believe, that those kind of experiments, simply can be determined  by, if the cat likes the food in bowl-A or bowl-B. This is not true.
Compound food with high or low contents of various matters and different mixture, are experimented on the cat  for a long time. Urine and feces are collected from the cat, so it can be analyzed, how much or little is released from these matters, afterwards a blood sample from the cat is made.
When the urine and feces is collected from the cat, the cat is caged in a metabolism-cage. The cage floor is a metal-grid, where urine and feces can pass through to a tray below. Therefore the cat has no possibility to cover its excrement's.
Almost all animals are particular when leaving or hiding their  excrement. It stresses the animal if it cannot follow this behavior. For the cat this means it has to hold it's excrement's for a long time. This concludes that, when it stays for long time, in the metabolism-caged it affects it's "natural behavior".  

We believe, when an animal lives in such pain and anxiety, it affects it's ethereal body, which has a negative influence on the animal race progress. Every animal species has it's own ethereal body, and when it is put through such pain, it affects the hole race. What we can read from Alice A. Bailey's books, that all natures kingdoms are a part of universal substance, that is coordinated with planetary substance, therefore it is the scientific basics of unity. We believe that the human ethereal body is integrated with the planetary Logo's ethereal body, so is the animal ethereal body. This conclude that we are violating the animals, it affect not just the individual animal, but the whole Divine Plan.

It is not just hard for the cat in Denmark, but also all over the world.
In Asia and China, the cat is used in the fur industry! Millions of cats suffer a painful death for this purpose.
In 2003, import of cat and dog fur was forbidden in Denmark, this ban is also in Belgium, France, Greece and Italy.

The cat, as mention before,has been with the human race for a very long time, and had the function to catch mice and rats. That has been a great importance for the human survival on this planet.
The last couple of years, the cats instinct , have been looked frown on. Down upon catching small animals is it's nature. It is important that we look at the cat both as a pet and a hunter.
It is a great help for the progress of cats to stay near humans, but we have to accept the other nature of the cat, that is still a great help for the Plan. We use a huge amount of poison, to kill rats and mice, and this poison does not just disappear to thin air but seeps into our the earth. It is possible to use cats in an organic way to keep the population of mice and rats down. The danish ministry of the environment, have just realized that.
